Amit Peled: Homage to Casals

Cellist Amit Peled, presented by Washington Performing Arts, gives a recital with pianist Noreen Polera on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater.  Called "Homage to Pablo Casals," the program celebrates the 100th anniversary of the great Catalan cellist's US tour by re-creating the recital program, using Casals' own cello.  Classical WETA morning host David Ginder chats with Amit about how Casals' programs were different from today's, the joys of using Casals' instrument, and the concluding piece on the recital--a new work by Lera Auerbach that celebrates Casals' legacies.
