A New Way to Connect Through Music

What if musicians around the world could practice together, even when they are thousands of miles apart?

For internationally acclaimed cellist, conductor, and educator Amit Peled, this question became the starting point for iMeetStand: an innovative digital platform designed to transform the traditionally solitary experience of musical practice into a shared, collaborative journey.

Combining digital sheet music, interactive communication, and a global community of musicians, iMeetStand is built around a simple belief: music is better when it is shared.

The Idea: A Waze for Musicians

The inspiration for iMeetStand came during an ordinary drive to a concert.

While traveling in a rental car, Amit was using Waze to navigate the roads ahead. At the same time, he found himself mentally reviewing the musical repertoire he would be performing that evening.

It was then that an unexpected connection came to mind.

Waze allows drivers to help one another navigate, sharing information, reporting obstacles, and finding the best routes together. But what if musicians could do the same thing with music?

Around the world, thousands of musicians might be practicing the very same composition at any given moment. They might be struggling with the same technical passage, searching for the right fingering, exploring an interpretation, or simply looking for inspiration.

Yet each musician is often working independently, unaware of the others who are navigating precisely the same musical journey.

Amit imagined a platform where musicians could find one another through the repertoire they were studying, exchange ideas, ask questions, and learn from each other's experiences.

The concept was simple but ambitious: a Waze for musicians.

Founded in Baltimore, iMeetStand represents the intersection of artistic experience, technological innovation, and the collaborative spirit of music education.

A Musical Community Without Borders

At its heart, iMeetStand is about changing the way musicians experience practice.

Traditional practice often involves hours spent alone in a room, working through difficult passages and searching for answers. iMeetStand introduces another possibility: learning alongside people who understand exactly what it means to work on the same music.

Through the platform, musicians can:

Connect Through Music

Discover other musicians working on the same compositions, connect with fellow performers, and exchange ideas through communities built around individual pieces of repertoire.

Learn From One Another

Ask questions directly on specific passages of sheet music, whether about fingering, bowing, technique, rhythm, or interpretation. Share insights and receive guidance with the musical context always in view.

Share the Journey

Exchange practice videos, demonstrate musical ideas, follow friends' activity, and experience the progress of a community of musicians.

Discover Something New

Step into the Break Room, explore what others are practicing, discover new repertoire, and find inspiration beyond the music currently on the stand.
